Candor Vets is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Farm Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly and supportive team in the beautiful Cornish countryside. This role offers the chance to work within a small, dedicated farm-only team, supported by experienced Animal Tuberculin Testers (ATTs) and vet techs.
This is a full-time position, with typical working hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. The rota is designed to ensure a healthy work-life balance, with a half-day provided for a night on call and a full day off in lieu for weekend duties. The practice benefits from its own out-of-hours vet, significantly easing the on-call burden, resulting in an approximate 1:10 rota for 10 months of the year. The role encompasses all aspects of progressive farm veterinary work, engaging with a diverse range of dairy, beef, and sheep farms, allowing individuals to pursue their specific interest areas. The presence of ATTs ensures that TB testing is minimised, allowing vets to focus on clinical work.
The role is based at a branch located near Callington, offering easy access to the stunning Cornish coast and moors. This provides ample opportunities to enjoy the local area, complemented by a generous holiday allowance.
Salary: Up to £50,000 DOE
6.6 weeks paid holiday including bank holidays (with an option to buy and sell additional holidays)
CPD allowance of £1,750 for vets and £2,500 for advanced qualifications
Free membership at a local Country Club (after probation)
