A brand-new, purpose-built small animal clinic in St Helens is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their nursing team on a permanent, full-time basis. The clinic has been designed with both patient care and team wellbeing in mind, and the nursing team is trusted and actively involved in clinical decision-making. The caseload is varied across medicine, surgery, and dentistry, and you will have the support of a 24-hour hospital nearby for continuity of care, without carrying any out-of-hours responsibility yourself.
This is a genuinely flat team structure with no traditional hierarchy. The clinic operates on a transparent pricing model and a mission to make veterinary care accessible to more pet owners. The facilities are well-equipped: two fully fitted theatres, a dedicated dental suite with dental X-ray, ultrasound and digital X-ray in a dedicated diagnostic space, six consulting rooms, and separate dog and cat wards. The waiting area includes a dedicated quiet space for cats. It is the kind of environment where nurses are given the clinical freedom to do their job properly, and where your input shapes how the team works.
In Your First Month: You will settle into the team, get familiar with the clinic's layout and systems, and build working relationships with vets and fellow nurses.
By Month Three: You will be confidently involved across theatre, consults, and inpatient care, and starting to bring your own clinical interests into the role.
By Month Six: You will be a key part of the nursing team, using your skills fully and potentially working towards a funded certificate.
If this sounds like the kind of role where you can use your skills properly, in a team that shares your values, we would be glad to have a confidential conversation with you.
