Candor Vets is delighted to present an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated Surgery Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a well-established, multidisciplinary referral and primary care hospital in Swindon, Wiltshire. This is a chance to become part of a friendly, close-knit team within an innovative, RCVS-accredited Tier 3 facility known for its exceptional patient care.
This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week over 4 x 10-hour days, with shifts scheduled between 8am and 8pm. The role includes a 1 in 8 weekend rota, with generous days off provided the following week to ensure a healthy work-life balance. The successful candidate will be an RVN with at least one year of post-qualification experience, ideally with previous surgery-specific experience. A team-spirited individual, passionate about delivering high-quality care, will thrive in this environment. While experience in a busy referral setting is desired, it is not essential, as full training and support will be provided by a supportive theatre technician team and the wider nursing team.
Day-to-Day Duties: The role encompasses a wide range of nursing skills, including a mix of general anaesthesia and sedations for advanced imaging and surgical procedures. A key focus will be on scrubbing into and assisting in surgical cases, along with theatre organisation. Other responsibilities include clipping and prepping patients, handling admits and discharges, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.
The practice is conveniently located just off the M4 in Swindon, Wiltshire, offering excellent transport links. Swindon itself provides a good balance of urban amenities and access to the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, making it an attractive location for professionals.
