About the role
Spend the majority of time in clinical practice (approximately 80%) while providing visible clinical leadership.
Candor Vets is working with an established veterinary practice in Chiswick, London to find a Clinical Director; the practice is a busy clinic with an existing caseload and an experienced local team.
What you will be doing
- Take responsibility for clinical standards, clinical governance and local quality improvement including audits.
- Oversee client care, complaints handling and ensure clear communication, consent and estimates.
- Line manage the Practice Manager, Head Nurse and the veterinary team and conduct regular performance conversations.
Clinical work
Business and financial oversight
- Lead casework across a general practice caseload and identify new clinical opportunities.
- Commit to evidence-based medicine and direct CPD and education within the team.
- Contribute to local clinic strategy, budget planning and delivery of financial KPIs; ensure clinic pricing and charging processes are followed.
- Support membership and client-acquisition activity alongside relevant team members.
Team and support
- Lead a team that includes four vets, a Head Nurse, three RVNs, a student nurse, a Practice Manager and support staff.
- Promote wellbeing and an open, supportive working culture, with access to veterinary wellbeing support.
