Transparent assumptions, visible limitations.

How Candor Vets’ free tools calculate results, what they do not claim and which external sources inform the editorial checks.

Privacy-first calculations

The calculators run in the browser. The advert checker stores its result in browser session storage only so the result page can open without placing advert text in the URL. The tools do not require an email address and do not submit entered figures or pasted advert text to Candor Vets.

Arithmetic tools

The locum, offer, vacancy-cost and rota tools use only the figures entered by the user. Their formulas are stated beside the result and do not apply hidden salary, tax, mileage, wellbeing or commercial assumptions. The offer calculator displays an indicative commute comparison using 45 pence per mile; this is a visible comparison rate, not reimbursement or tax advice.

Advert Coverage Index

The checker uses 40 visible presence checks across six categories. It identifies whether commonly useful information appears to be present; it does not judge whether the salary is fair, whether claims are accurate or whether an advert complies with law. Inclusive-wording findings are labelled for review and link to official government guidance.

Salary explorer

The explorer includes only annual GBP figures explicitly disclosed in current Candor Vets vacancies. It links every figure to its source advert and does not describe the small, changing set as representative of a role, region or market.
